Turkey TDY

In August of 2000 we rotated through the AEF (Air Expeditionary Force) Rotation to Turkey once again.  It definitely isn't the worst place I have ever been and the shot guns, leather, gold, and rugs over there make the trip worth while each year we go back.  If you are ever there, see Pop's Leather and Abe's Carpet in the alley!

However, on this last trip after a little run in with ATA airlines, a flat airplane nose tire, and the Turkish government, I won't be jumping up and down to go back anytime soon!  We were delayed getting home by almost a week and placed in a hanger to sleep in for the duration thanks to all that!  Below are some pictures from the deployment.   Click on any for larger photos.  Use your browsers back button to return here.

The Hostage Crisis, Day 3.  This is outside our "hangar" living accommodations.  It was loud enough with the airplanes outside but sleeping with 100 of my best buds in one room.....

This is also another castle located on the beach, built by the Greeks.
